Landscape Construction Project Manager
Have you pulled off many successful landscapes construction projects over the years? Borst Landscape & Design is a nationally-recognized, award-winning, full-service landscape design company in Bergen County, New Jersey. We are currently looking for a full-time Landscape Construction Project Manager to join our team.
The key responsibility of this position will be to manage and supervise multiple projects from start to finish. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing staff, adhering to schedules, and budgets in order to deliver a well-built project on time and within a budget. This is a hands-on management position requiring excellent organizational skills and a fundamental understanding of the landscape construction industry.
Responsibilities could include…
- Must possess Site Elevation Knowledge and be able to participate in all job functions including but not limited to; plan reading, softscape and hardscape installation, grating and site work.
- Oversee the scheduling and overall construction of projects including the coordination of all materials, staff, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce a quality job and to maximize efficiency and gauge progress.
- Review construction packages (contract, budget, drawings, and schedule) prior to beginning construction. Identify and request additional information needed for construction. Distribute and maintain construction package until project completion.
- Must possess the ability to think forward, make decisions as well as identifying and solving problems, while supervising 5teams of 2-3 crew members.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and strategies for organizing all scopes, people, material, tools, and equipment for multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Communicate with client about work orders and job details, assuring that our customers receive an exceptional Borst experience
- Fundamental computer skills of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), smartphones and tablets.
- Great communication skills – Ensure that managers and other relevant parties are kept informed of the potential for significant changes – unexpected delays or outcomes, or changes in resource requirements.
- Assuring that projects and contracts are completed efficiently and to the highest standards
- Training, mentoring, and growing the staff assigned to complete landscape
Other Requirements:
- MUST have a valid Driver’s license.
- 5 years of landscape construction experience required
- 3 years of landscape construction leadership experience
- English is required, Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
- Must have previous Leadership experience.
- Expert knowledge of hardscape and softscape installation processes.
- Must possess the skills to operate and train other team members on utilizing equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Work some Saturdays, especially during peak season
- Commercial snow removal is required.

Landscape Construction and Maintenance Team Members
Borst Landscape & Design, a major Bergen County, NJ landscape construction and landscape maintenance company is seeking Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance Team Members to grow with us!

Landscape Design Intern
If you are an aspiring landscape designer or architect, you have come to the right place!
Borst Landscape is looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Landscape Design Intern.
A little bit about us: We’re a complete landscape design/build company based out of Allendale, NJ, who has been serving the Bergen County area for over 30 years. From full redesigns, including hardscaping + plantings to enhance existing landscapes. Our award-winning Design/Build division does it all.
As a Landscape Design intern with Borst, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Conduct multiple site visits a week with our design team members
- Visit local nurseries to asses and purchase plant material
- Perform site analyses (measurements and site photos)
- Have client-facing experiences and effectively communicate with clients via e-mail
- Research and implement individual town zoning codes and communicate with Engineering & Zoning officials
- Complete permit applications
- Learn more about programs such as Auto-Cad, Photoshop, 3D Modeling (Sketch Up & Lumion)

- Timeframe – Ideally, May through August/September, but we’re flexible! We’ll work with your schedule.

Lawn and Tree Care Manager
As the premier landscape design company in Bergen County and northern New Jersey we produce outstanding work for each and every client. The key responsibility of this position will be training, motivating, and leading a team of Lawn and tree care technicians. Our ideal candidate will be well versed in lawn care and plant health care. This is an (in the field and office, non-remote) position for an experienced and dependable individual that will be responsible for day-to-day operations.
Your responsibilities could include…
- Train, supervise, assess performance, and coach Lawn and Tree & Shrub Care Technicians to meet and exceed customer service and production requirements for existing customers
- Route, schedule, track and report the daily production of the technicians
- Monitor the division’s vehicles and related equipment
- Purchase material and monitor inventory
- Quality control and customer service
- Interact with customers to maintain relationships and resolve service issues
- Maintain pesticide usage log as required by NJDEP
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required to meet company objectives
Requirements:
- English is required
- 3 years’ experience of lawn care and plant health care
- 3 years’ of leadership experience in the green industry
- Pesticide Applicators License categories, 3A, 3B, and Core
- You are self-driven and a team player.
